Hungary-pecs and Budapest

This was Pecs, where Emilie is living and going to school until December.  Her town was super quaint and very historical.  Take note of the round building in the background with the green roof.
The round building from the previous photo is the church that has preserved.  The still hold mass inside of it however it is a touristic site since half of it is one religion and the other half is a different religion...but I forget which ones. I'm lighting a prayer candle inside.
In Budapest... the amazing castle looking building is their Parlement building. Not too shabby.
I arrived in Budapest two days ago to the scorching heat, it sure is a change from sweden's none stop rain.  There was a driver at the airport waiting for me with my name on a little board just like in the movies.  We then stopped to pick up some other people including a couple and two guys.  Most people in Hungary do not speak english, including my driver, however one of the guys we picked up has been living in london for the past two years so his english was beneficial to me.  He was very helpful in answering some of my questions and even taught me some of the History of pecs.  It was about a two hour drive into pecs (that is where my friend Emilie is going to school) the town in on a hill reminding me of the old villages in greece that are perched on cliff sides.  The town is so quaint I am really enjoying it, the town square especially which is in its center is probably the most gorgeous and majestic part and I have found myself frequenting it.  This morning however we are off for a new adventure in Budapest.  There are five of us going and none of us have ever been so we are excited to explore the natural baths, parks and monuments.  Then finally on Sunday I am off to Colchester.

Oktoberfest

Me and Suzanne having ice cream in the Englisher Garten.
Sweetest river surfers, so cool to watch them surf on a man made wave.
Marienplatz, there are little figures in the center tower that dance at noon which we waited half an hour to watch and got bored the first two minutes of them dancing.
View of Marienplatz from atop Alter Peter, we climber close to a million stairs for this view (exaggeration but still).
Inside one of the beer tents. I believe this one was Paulaner the first one we went into and had to get up at six in the morning to beat the rush except it was packed when we got there.
Just got back from Munich.  Oktoberfest was overwhelming and most likely will never attempt it again but I enjoyed every second of it.  Our hostel was in the perfect location for us to access the festivities as well as explore the town.  I had been worried that four days would not be enough time but I was proven wrong.  We arrived early Friday morning so we utilized the day and got to see just how beautiful the city is.  We were real tourists for the day.  At night the festivities began with everyone at the hostel.  Our pre-arranged tour group brought us to our first beer hall where I proceeded to make a business...I shall explain.  The beer was ten euro but if you brought your mug back you would get three euro in return, so I began collecting other mugs, one's left behind by those who were not told of this.  I probably profited a good thirty euro's until the worker yelled at me for being smarter then their little system, oh well.  Tents closed early which was perfect so that we could get some rest.  We were required to get up at six the next morning to go with our group. we were not aware that the halls do not open until nine, tired hungry and cold we waited with thousands of people around the world for three hours! It was a sight to see all the people rush in once they finally opened the doors but needless to say I did not get up the following morning for a re-enactment.  The weather could not have been better all weekend I was somewhat reluctant to leave it behind to return to the rain here in Sweden but that will soon change as I am off to Hungary tomorrow.  I will soak up some heat for you all in Budapest.

in Sweden

Turbo by her front door.  We stayed with her for one night.
Turbo's town, Varberg, has an amazing beach, too bad it was so cold I would've jumped in
Heading back to Gothenburg on the Train, and below is me in Gothenburg
Hi all I arrived safely in Sweden and Amy was at the airport waiting for me as planned.  Craziness happened in brussels during my layover: first off they didnt give you your gate number until ten minutes before departure so you had to keep checking, then you have to board a bus to take you to the plane which is out in the middle of no where which brings me to my second crazy incident, our bus crashed into another bus on the tarmac so once we finally got to our plane they had to call medical for some people.  I AM FINE...I cannot stress this more, I did not get hurt so please do not panic.  I have been able to explore Gothenburg (or shall I say goteburg which is pronounced oo-te-bury) even though it has not been nice wheather wise rain.  Did some shopping although havent bought much since my understanding of the exchange rate turned out faulty and it is quite expensive.  I also had the opportunity to go see Turbo, krystal's hockey friend, who lives in Varberg which is only forty minutes away.  I went by train with Amy and stayed with her for a night.  We cooked some swedish lazagna which was so amazing I am currently drooling just thinking of it.  Amy and I are back in Goteburg now she is in class and I am hanging out at the school until she is done so we can go off to dinner.  miss you all talk soon
